our bit of earth

Sixteen acres in central Vermont.
Four miles in on a dirt road.
Six acres of balsam trees.
A funky little house that works for now.
A long held dream we've worked into reality.
With a view that will knock your socks off.
We get to this slice of heaven whenever we can,
and hope to be there full time as soon as we can manage it.
We sow the best of what we eat.
We're delighted to both save and share some of our harvest.
We've pruned the ancient orchard and planted new trees.
From bush to muffins in 25 minutes.
Inspired by a family favorite,
The Secret Garden, by Frances Hodgson Burnett
and illustrated by Inga Moore.
There's fun to be had in every season at our "bit of earth".
A place to gather family and friends.
An unplugged oasis, with plenty of room to breathe.
