Does anyone out there have any experience with "morning pages"? Julia Cameron has written about doing three pages of longhand writing, free association style, first thing in the morning. Have you tried it, has it helped boost your creativity?
I hope someone else answers in the affirmative. I am so not a morning person...have to get up at 4:45 for work, but that only leaves me time to get up, dressed, feed the cats, and out the door. And on weekends i revert to sleeping late! Love your hollyhock...guess you've had enough snow :).
I did try this for about a week and did not experince any burst of creativity. I felt that maybe it was more of an excercise for people whose creative bent is towards writing. I passed the book onto my daughter who hasn't had the time to try it yet!
Hi Karen, I did morning pages for about a year-also belonged to an Artist's Way discussion group. It was helpful, but I ran out of steam after a while. Love Julia Cameron's books, especially The Artist's Way, but can't find my copy since we moved from NY five years ago!
