neighborhood gathering

(a reminder from wild things)

There is a tendency for living things to join up,
establish linkages,
live inside each other,
return to earlier arrangements,
get along, whenever possible.
This is the way of the world.

  1. Is that a herd of grackles? They stopped off here on their way North just a few days ago, filling my neighbor's tall oak tree with their creakings and squeakings. If it's a crowd of crows, it's probably the darker side of nature...they gather together to harass owls or hawks. (A tundra owl was spotted here in Washington this week!...he/she first came to the attention of observers because he/she was being mobbed by crows.)
