friday bits and pieces

When I dropped Gretta off at the farm, I could not resist taking a picture of the farm's gypsy girls, gossiping in the early morning sunshine. Someday I would like to have a flock of my own...

I heard bits of our president's speech on NPR yesterday, and I just want to say that I feel so much better about things these days. Still a crazy world, but not so much craziness in power...the phrase " past decisions based on fear rather than foresight" really sums up what he's leading us OUT of.

Fear is so counterproductive and it draws negative energy.

Hope. I like it much better. And it is so full of possibilities...

We all have choices, and choosing hope (and love) over fear (and hate) is a no brainer, eh?

Tidying, packing, errands and then we're OFF! Friends, have a fab weekend, wherever you are and whatever you're up to.

  1. I'm in agreement, Karen - I'm definitely feeling more hopeful about our country and its leadership. You put it very well.
Looking forward to a nice weekend with my hubby, and wishing you a wonderful one at your bit of earth!!

  2. Funny that you should post that picture, Karen, as i've been doing lots of reading lately about "urban" chicken raising. That chicken "tractor" you've got there is my friend Jim Mello's secret for a fantastic organic garden...moves the girls around, they eat the bugs and emergent weeds, manure the soil, and lay delicious farm fresh eggs.

Have a wonderful weekend in Vermont!!

  3. My daughter and son-in-law (well, mostly him) have their own little flock of three and are enjoying fresh eggs, daily. since I grew up on a farm, it is a comforting sound to me, to have them pecking around.
    Have a great long weekend.
