hmmm...

As the miles evaporate under the wheels of my devoted vehicle (she's taken me on many an adventure), I've pondered our upcoming changes. And I keep coming back to something I read this summer in Love and Death, My Journey Through the Valley of the Shadow, by Forrest Church.

"Want what you have.
Do what you can.
Be who you are."

Maybe it's really that simple.

What do you think?

  1. I think that quote is basic and wonderful.
Each element rings true and could be a real source of inspiration.

  2. It sounds simple, but in practice is not all that easy! Certainly something to aspire to. Hope you have a delightful trip getting Gretta off to school.

  3. Love this quote (those great Unitarian authors...) I always have trouble defining when I'm finished with "Do what you can." Kind of like that Sufi saying "Show up. Pay Attention. Speak your piece. Let go of the result." I always have trouble knowing when I'm done "Speaking my piece....:)" Wonderful for pondering.
