grand central station
new york city
last night, 10 PM
constellations on the ceiling

can you imagine the rich and splendid variety of people
who have passed through this place over the years?
the greetings, the goodbyes...
the stories...

as we head into the season of ingathering and gratitude,
i wish everyone safe travels, open hearts and an
abundance of spirit.

  1. It's a place I would love to visit one day. I think Us Brits should take a lttle from our American cousins and adopt the thanksgiving season.

  2. Great pictures! I love Grand Central Terminal. I had a group tour of the building last year and it was fascinating.

  3. A wonderful holiday wish to you Karen with two of your flock safely gathered in. A new thanksgiving tradition this year at our "house" - instead of collecting colorful feathers each night at dinner to create our gratitude turkey of things we appreciate during November, we've been sending "virtual feathers" to each other & connecting with thanks about our days over the internet - not as "beautiful" - but just as special!

  4. I was able to visit Grand Central for the first time this past September. I was filled with awe at the thought of all the comings and goings that were taking place and had taken place there in the past. It felt so full of possibility, like I could go anywhere, much much more so than I get in an airport. And the beauty of the place!!! swoon!

  6. Lovely pictures of Grand Central Terminal. It's amazing to think of the life stories that have flowed in and out of its gates. I don't remember too much about Mark Helprin's Winter's Tale but i remember how magically he paints the dome of Grand Central Terminal and the man responsible for keeping the clock movements running.

I'm so glad your two college girls are safely home!
