hannah's friend rachel is almost 22.
they were thinking about going in to the city to celebrate.
but they are college girls, after all.
and need to live within their means...
so we hosted a homemade birthday party.
cooking (spinach lasagna), baking (chocolate cake),
cleaning, decorating...
and then we had seven,
some in and out and some overnight.
friends from high school, four years later,
telling tales, laughing,
talking about what comes next in the big, wide world of possibilities
godspeed, dear ones.
So sweet of you to host the party! I miss the days of having a houseful of my children's friends. My kids are so far away:(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table setting!
How sweet that they would do this instead of maxing out their credit cards to go into the city...what a wonderful way to celebrate with friends and the help of a really cool mom!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty table and lovely celebration!!
ReplyDeleteYour home sounds like a very warm, welcoming place!!
Karen, I hope you get that citrus tree one day! I'd love New England to become the next indoor citrus growing capital of the world.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
What a lovely thing to do - and godspeed to them all - it's hard to let them go!
