it's quiet now and the sheets and towels are washed...

otherworldly...
tall, spindly stalk, crazy seed pods, gorgeous pink coloring...
the cleomes are nodding in the wind today.

hannah is happy as can be in ohio.

an early, wet, windy drive to la guardia airport this morning
sent gretta back to college in illinois.
check out what she's been up to these past few days,
over at her crunchy corner.

henry and i will be heading back to our
"bit of earth" in vermont tomorrow,
to squeeze the last little bit out of the summer.
i've been missing my sewing machine...

what are you working on as the summer slips away?

(and thanks for your comments in response to my exhaustified post,
i'm glad to be in your good company!)

  1. Cleome is such a lovely little flower; I meant to plant some in my garden this year, but summer is slipping fast away! Can you believe it? Enjoy your bit of earth and your sewing machine:)
