Today, we headed up to visit our friends at
the Green Mountain Girls Farm for their
"spring fever" open house.
Gretta (above) offers her congratulations to the first mama goat to kid.
Her triplets were born last night, the first one was breached,
but all is fine now.
Another set of triplets was born early this morning and a few more
mamas were ready to go later today.
Mari provides some encouragement and comfort...
...while Laura does a bit of lactation coaching at the other end.
It's hard to imagine how all three of these long legged siblings
were snug in their mama's womb just a few hours ago.
The hoop house is filled with young, spring greens.
We caught the sweet barn kitty taking a cat nap.
Spring fever, indeed.

Yay! Baby goats! So adorable.
ReplyDeleteI visited day old baby kittens yesterday! The momma cat only weighed 8.5 lb while pregnant with 5 kittens. I couldn't believe there all fit in there. Two of the babies were polydactyl on the front feet!
Love baby animals!
How very sweet and lovely. New life all around!
ReplyDeleteI love Spring, my favourite season. I also have a soft spot for goats!
