home grown
a fine dose of sheep herding pups
ready for the root cellar
some of the last of our garden's gifts
These full and busy days are what I crave. The autumn shift in air and light. The bounty from the gardens. A quilt show deadline. A parade of house guests (my brother and sister-in-law and a big project...an old college buddy...and a friend and vendor at the Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival). An application to a juried market (!). Newish volunteer work that is helping to weave me into the local community (via the hospital chaplaincy program).
The foliage here in Vermont is happening!
I'm living in an alternate universe right now.
On purpose.
For self preservation.
How about you, dear readers? Are you avoiding the news?

DeleteShall I you pencil you in for next year?
I would love to spend an autumn in Vermont (and every other season too!) An alternate Universe seems like a good idea. :)
ReplyDeleteit is a magical place...
DeleteGood for you, Karen, and what a beautiful universe it is! So happy to see how much you love your new home and community!! Enjoy! xo
ReplyDeletethanks, friend.
Deleteit was worth waiting for...
Foliage is happening here, too!! And I most always avoid the news. I cared when there was Bernie. I think it is better to focus on one's nearby life. It isn't an 'alternate' - it is the real universe.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes Nan, how wise you are! And I do so miss Bernie too. xo
DeleteYES YES YES Can't wait for Thanksgiving!
