and comfort one another and all those you know.
Let the stranger find welcome at the door of your home and friends
be at ease in the warmth of your love.
May the work that one does and the work that you share bring wholeness
to each and fulfillment to both.
May love and blessing from this gathering of friends rest upon, abide
with and assist you in this new venture.
May the union that we celebrate here this day be worthy of continued
celebration tomorrow and forever.
-The blessing given by the Rev. Ken Phifer at our wedding on June 9th, 1979.
I think Ken was on to something...
Batman, I love you as high as the sky and as deep as the ocean. Looking forward to the next adventure...
Happy anniversary, Karen and Peter! I think Ken was on to something, too...sounds like he absolutely hit all the high notes of your marriage right from the beginning. I wish you many years of happiness, health, and contentment together.
ReplyDeleteKaren, 30 fantastic years together, something definetly worth celebrating. Happy anniversary and best wishes for many many more. Terry
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful words to revisit today. Give your guy an extra hug from Illinois - and celebrate the start of your next 30. Can't wait to see what they bring - you are always an inspiration here! Love to you both.

Happy Anniversary, celebrating 30 years of marriage is recognised as a Pearl Anniversary here in the UK. Sue
ReplyDeleteWishing you and Peter a very Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blessing to share...
You are all so kind, with your good wishes! Hannah, Gretta, Peter and I had a yummy dinner together. Then our friends Liz and Jimmy (our favorite mother and son combo) popped over for dessert and chat around the table. One of the best parts of our life together is that the love we share spills out into a great group of friends and family. xoxoxo
