simple bathroom window treatment

We painted the bathroom walls Benjamin Moore's lacey pearl (2108-70), which turned out to be more mauve-y in the artificial light than we expected. We also had to account for the peachy tile on the tub enclosure.
After I asked you all for window treatments ideas, Jane's butcher paper suggestion got me thinking about a flat treatment...kind of like a roller blind, but not.
So I used a tension rod, some white Kona cotton, an appliqued rectangle of a Kaffe Fassett pansy print, and stitched a very simple bit of privacy.

I have three 5x7 frames, waiting for some sort of fabric accent, to add a bit more color to the room.

Sorry about the quality of these pics...the room is small and on the north side of the house...I had to resort to turning on the lights.

Have you been working on any projects lately?

  1. I love the perfect simplicity of this curtain:) I've been working on lots of smaller projects, trying to keep them all straight in my head. My next big, and unexpected, project is to turn my studio into a temporary bedroom for my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter. Oh my!

  2. You have such a way of getting things done! I am always lifted by your style and skill.
    Your (new?) header is charming.
My projects are numerous, scattered, in stages. Guess the potting shed is numero uno right now.

  3. Yes! I have been de-cluttering my house, from the attic to the cellar. Posted about it today.

    Cheers!

  5. I sincerely think that was nice and simple. :) But you can never underestimate that. In my assessment, it could provide you the window shade, safety, and protection from detrimental elements inside. And to top it off, it doesn’t look like a DIY treatment at all. :D

  6. Simple, yet very effective – that’s how I describe the treatment. The treatment serves two purposes in my opinion: one is to provide privacy and the other is to mellow out the light the bathroom receives. The former is self-explanatory; the latter, on the other hand, is essential, so that people can relax in the bathroom. Great project!
