between the solstice and christmas, a pause.

"May the Love which overcomes all differences,
which heals all wounds,
which puts to flight all fears,
which reconciles all who are separated,
be in us and among us
now and always."

-Frederick E Gillis

  1. Amen!

My favorite Christmas poem is this one by Howard Thurman:

When the song of the angels is stilled,
when the star in the sky is gone,
when the kings and princes are home,
when the shepherds are back with their flocks,
    the work of Christmas begins:
    to find the lost,
    to heal the broken,
    to feed the hungry,
    to release the prisoner,
    to rebuild the nations,
to bring peace among the people,
to make music in the heart.

It was a wonderful surprise to receive a card from you, Karen. Thank you so much! A merry Christmas to you and your loved ones. May the New Year bring us all peace, joy and music in the heart.
