Holy snowstorm, Batman!

12" of snow.
No electricity.
Iced roads.
Power lines down.
Branches and trees down.

We're hunkered in by the fireplace.

CRAZY!

How are things at your house this morning?

  1. Wow Reed, that sure is CRAZY!
We had a gorgeous day here yesterday - sunny, cool, crisp, mid-50s. Today is rather overcast, and in light of your photo yesterday, I'll stop whining because the temp is beginning to dip! Stay warm and enjoy the fire. I'm settling into the Sunday crossword with coffee in hand.

  2. Grey, damp and actually quite mild - very boring. Hope you are well-stocked and keeping warm.

  3. Snow is melting quickly in the sun. Huge 25' limb down but no damage, thankfully. Have power (and thus heat! Important because we don't have a working fireplace). It was beautiful yesterday, but today it's dirty with leaves and branches, plus grass sticking through, everywhere. I imagine we only got 3+ heavy compacted inches. My dad says we're the Miami of Connecticut, with less snow and warmer temps than most of the state.

  6. I am in Palm Springs, CA until Tuesday. Temps today were in the 90s. The golf courses are still sucking water from the Colorado River. The kumquats are on the verge of ripening. I look forward to my return to New Mexico.

  7. Wow, Karen - we had about 4" of very heavy snow and no phone or internet. Does Mother Nature know it's still October?

  8. A good blustery October day here with the gorgeous leaves blowing and a bit of rain to keep us inside later in the day. Repacking the living room after new carpet for our afternoon. That snow looks beautiful - hope the fire keeps you warm through the outage.

  9. We got hit with around 8 inches, but fortunately, we didn't lose power. LOTS of limbs down all over the place, though, and much of the city is without power.

  10. Hi Karen, we did ok here in Maine...didn't lose power but trees were bent to the ground with the heavy snow. My relatives in Conn. may not get the power back on for a week! Hope yours returns soon.
    Stay warm by that fireplace!
