dreams+patience

Henry and Gretta taking in the view
and sharing a moment at our  "bit of earth"
this past weekend.

Spring break is over, Gretta has gone back to school.
I'm in Cincinnati, finishing up two days of interviews
for our search, (dressed up!) and full of ideas.
It's been great fun, and I love this work...
but I'm feeling very far away from our rural dream.

This living between two worlds...
...it is so odd.
(A big blessing and a little curse.)
The plan keeps changing and adjusting to reality,
but I try to keep the compass pointing north.

I wonder, dear readers, what sage advice you might have for me.
How do you work at a dream and have patience, too?

  2. Patience is my biggest struggle. I want what I want and I want it now! Oh dear.... Let me know when you learn the solution:)

  4. I want an oompa-loompa NOOOWWWWW! Sorry i couldn't resist. We have had the same struggle in waiting and waiting to buy a house, but that will turn out very well for us in the end I think. Maybe sometimes things take longer than we think so that we appreciate them more when we finally get there!

  5. Karen, for 8 long years I waited to return to my beloved Massachusetts when we lived on Long Island. Jobs (for my husband) came and went, our home was on the market 3 different times, sales fell through, 9/11 happened and I thought we would never get here. I learned a lot about patience, hope and resilience. We finally made it and I was able to be close to my parents before they passed away, my husband got the best job of his life, and I found a supportive artistic community. I think flexibility and resilience got me through. I know you'll be more grateful than ever when you finally get to your Bit of Earth.
